Meet Christopher Zullo, the visionary founder and Artistic Director of Spotlight Stage Company, whose remarkable journey in the performing arts has spanned almost 30 years and taken him across the United States and Europe. Christopher's impressive resume includes captivating performances off-Broadway in Songs For A New World and a celebrated appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Romeo & Juliet. A proud member of the Screen Actors Guild since 2009, he made his debut in the film industry with a role in It’s Complicated and has continued to excel in theater, film, and television. Other film and television appearances include: Ugly Betty, Law & Order: SVU, Letters to Juliet, Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.
With a diverse array of stage credits, Christopher has brought to life unforgettable characters, including Gabriel in Next To Normal, Adam/Noah in Children of Eden, Paris in Romeo & Juliet, and Beethoven in Dog Sees God. His most recent portrayal as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat further showcases his range and talent.
An accomplished dancer, Christopher has performed with prestigious dance companies across Connecticut, New York, and Florida, including LaMar Productions, Main Street Ballet, Thrive: The Essence of Dance, Performing Art Studio Be, and Cirque Le Masque.

Christopher is currently teaching after school theatre classes at Seymour Middle School and musical theatre at Studio Be.
Christopher's directorial accomplishments are noteworthy, with favorites such as The Politics of Sleep, The Waiting Room, Fame: The Musical, Once On This Island, Stand Up and Speak Out: The Anti-bullying Musical, Into The Woods Jr., Annie Jr., and Cinderella: Youth Edition. He most recently directed Once On This Island Jr., which was another outstanding production.
In addition to his directing prowess, Christopher has proudly served as the head producer for every production at Spotlight Stage Company, ensuring that each performance is a testament to artistic excellence and community engagement. His unwavering dedication to the company and his commitment to fostering talent in others make Christopher a true luminary in the Connecticut theater scene.
Spotlight on Vincent McCoy our Associate Artistic Director. Vinny has been involved in theater from a very young age. He grew up performing at the Warner Theatre, Thomaston Opera House, Seven Angels, and Musicals at Richter. He later became involved behind the scenes as well. Before studying & graduating from Western Connecticut State University with a BA in Musical Theater and being awarded the VASTA award for Voice and Diction by KCACTF, he performed in the World Premier & 1st National Tour of Magic Tree House: The Musical. Shortly after graduation, he made his directorial debut with Damn Yankees at the Warner Theatre. While living in NYC, he interned with Broadway Records and helped the producing team of many Broadway shows including Big Fish, Matilda, and Velocity of Autumn. He also performed in the World Premier & later the Off- Broadway production of Liberty- A Monumental New Musical as the Assistant Director/Dance Captain/Male Swing. Vinny has served as Production Manager for all of Spotlight's productions since 2022. Recently, Vinny directed Peter and the Starcatcher for SSC. Spotlight on Fiona Bryson, Spotlight's season 5 Music Director! Fiona previously musically directed our production of RENT, Peter and the Starcatcher our Summer Youth Production of Once On This Island Jr and for our fall production of Jesus Christ Superstar. A Shelton native, Ms Bryson has performed and directed with such area groups as Musicals at Richter in Danbury and Two Planks in Monroe. Most recently, she musically directed Anything Goes at Center Stage Theatre in Shelton. Ms. Bryson is also the musical director of the award-winning Shelton High School Drama Club, and teaches musical theatre performance classes and workshops at the Center Stage Education Center. When not creating theatre, Fiona works with Mad Science of Fairfield County and the International Festival of Arts & Ideas. The Spotlight team is thrilled to have Fiona on board!
Spotlight on our Technical Director, Mick Gloss! Mick is an actor and production manager based out of CT and NYC, currently working as the in-house production manager for Top Notch Productions. Some of his previous credits include Wardrobe Supervisor for The Bridgerton Experience (NYC), Swing Dresser for The Phantom of the Opera (Broadway), Technical Director for The Mighty Quinn Foundation (Stratford, CT), and Wardrobe Supervisor for Lysistrata: The Musical (Edinburgh Fringe). Mick was recently seen in SSC's production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as Chip and as a vocalist for SSC's Winter cabaret. Mick designed all of the lighting for our most recent production of Peter and the Starcatcher.
Spotlight on Michelle Bonavena our Resident Choreographer! Michelle has been a member of the SSC team and our resident choreographer since 2020. She owns and operates the award winning Performing Art Studio Be, in North Haven CT, where she also teaches dance, vocals, and musical theatre. Michelle is a mom to two girls, Aria and Alessia who are both performers. Alessia has been seen in a few of SSC's Youth Productions.
Michelle has been dancing and singing her whole life, teaching for most of it and has been a successful business woman for many years as well.
Spotlight on Shannon Denihan a wonderful addition to our company! Performing since the age of 3, Shannon has over 40 years of experience in theatre and dance. Favorite credits: “Anything Goes” (Reno Sweeney), “Kiss Me Kate” (Bianca/Lois), “Funny Girl” (Fanny Brice), “Rocky Horror Show” (Columbia) and “Nunsense”(Sister Amnesia). Shannon is a director and choreographer having worked off-Broadway, internationally and at many local theatres. Shannon is a 1st grade teacher at SMMS in Oakville and lives in Naugatuck with her husband and daughter. She recently was seen in SSC's production of RENT, and will be directing and choreographing the fall production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
